Ezekiel 39
I hope the video helped. What I liked the most about having some insight to the nations that are going to be the enemies of Israel is I get a real sense of how powerful the Lord is and how Glorious His victory is going to be. When I saw all those nations that were involved my finite mind thought there's no way that little piece of land can hold up against all those nations. But to me that's what makes it so incredible! It's so exciting to see how God is going to make such a statement that the entire world is going to know that He is the one true all powerful God!
Also one more thing I liked about having a sense for who's involved make me more attentive to what's going on in the world. We can already see how many of those nations, which are Muslim, hate Israel and want to destroy it. When I hear extremists groups or other nations say that they are going to destroy Israel I can't help but laugh because they have no idea who they are up against. Yes things are bad in the middle east and Israel might be under attacks but we see in Ezekiel 38-39 that one day the Lord WILL destroy all those nations and restore His people! The coolest thing about all this is that He isn't going to do this because they deserve it, but because He is going to let all the world see that HE IS GOD!

Ezekiel 38
So I know this is a gnarly chapter and it could be hard to understand or get something out of this. I know for me the struggle was how do I know this will happen because all these nations I have no idea who they are or if they even exist. So I found a youtube clip that will help bring Ezekiel 38-39 more to life and I believe that when we see how real this is, it will bring to life how REAL, AWESOME, and TRUE God's word is.

Ezekiel 37
This chapter has given me more hope for our church and axiom. We see how God takes a bunch of dry bones and restores life to them. Yes He is talking about the nation of Israel here but I do believe that the Lord offers this same thing to us, HIS CHILDREN! I know that there are things in life that we see as "lost causes". There are the family members, friends, and current situations we just give up on because we feel that there is nothing we can do. So instead of taking these things before the Lord daily in prayer we just give up on them and pray for the things that are "still alive". Even though God can raise people from the dead this isn't what He's getting at. He is talking about His chosen people that are spiritually dead. Anyone feel spiritually dead? Feel like your life/walk with the Lord is pretty dead right now?
What do we do about this? Well as I read a commentary on Ezekiel 37 they pointed out two things that will bring you back from spiritual death. The first is God's word. God tells Ezekiel to "Prophecy/speak" to these bones and they will start to come back to life. Next He tells Ezekiel to tell the breath/ The Spirit of God to enter these newly formed bodies and that's what gives these bodies life. If we want to be made spiritually alive again then we better be getting the Lord word in us daily and asking for His breath/Spirit to give us life. It doesn't matter what we have done. In this portion of scripture God is talking about His chosen people who by the way turned their back on Him and how He would restore them. That goes for us too. And as for those "lost causes" we should be praying for those things daily too. Now I started off by saying that I was given more hope for our church and axiom because it just reminds me how I need to always be lifting our church and axiom to the Lord. Things might seem like they are dead in the church and in axiom but if we are daily asking for the Lord to fill His church with His word and especially His Spirit then watch out because the Lord will bring life and revival back to His church!

Ezekiel 28:24-26
How many of you when you read this portion of scripture thought to yourself; what does this have to do with me? Through Ezekiel God is letting Israel, and all of human history know what He has in store for the nation of Israel. That sounds great and it's cool to know that Isreal is taken care of, but what does that have to do with us? If you are going to come at this portion of scripture, or any portion of scripture for that matter with an attitude like that I believe we will not get anything out of this. So if that was you, maybe you should re-read this portion and see if anything changes.
So the heart behind this blog is to get axiom or anyone reading this to dive into the word but most importantly share what the Lord spoke to you through His word. As I read this I can't help but see how amazing the Lord is. We know that God has chosen the nation of Israel to be His people and that He has a plan, that hasn't come to fulfillment yet but it is in the works. What blows my mind is that we can read about these things to come in His word but what's even more mind blowing is that we can read about it in the news and we can watch these things on T.V start to line up. Pastor Rick shared how he believes that we went from minutes to Christ return to seconds until He comes back. Now that thought might scare some people but the way I have seen it is that this is not a fairy tale, this is really going to happen. Now getting back to this text when I read it I look at it as signs/insight for things to look out for. We see in this portion of scripture the Lord said He is going to gather the nation from being scattered, which is taking place and He is going to take out all the "malicious neighbors". Knowing that these things are going to happen, we can now always be aware of the indicators that God has told us about and be mindful of the things to come.
So are these things really going to happen? Is God really going to use that little piece of land in the Middle East to establish His Kingdom on earth? Now there are things that the Lord has given insight to, things that need to take place before His return but what do we do with them? Are we suppose to only watch out for these things? Are we suppose to live in the spirit of fear of these things or should we have a revrent fear of what the Lord is going to do? What do you think,? What is the Lord telling you?

God's love
Even though the title has changed I'm still writing about what I'm being reminded of in the book of Psalms. I re-read chapter 6 and one verse really spoke to me. In verse 4 David asks the Lord to save him because of His unfailing love. As I started thinking about that I was reminded that everything God does for us is because of love. Whether that's forgiveness, healing, blessing, anything that we receive from God is because of His unfailing love. I know that sometimes we may think that our prayers were answered because we deserved it because we prayed a lot for it or because we read our bibles every day. God doesn't choose to bless us because we deserve anything, the truth of the matter is we do not deserve anything. We couldn't do enough, give enough, read enough, or even pray enough to truly deserve what the Lord blesses us with.
But that to me makes God even more incredible. To know that the God of the universe loves me enough to put up with all my crap and even though I am constantly failing Him he still loves me enough to save me because He loves me. Be reminded of the love that God has for you, it is something that could never be taken away and will never fail!

Being reminded day 6.
In Psalm 6 we see that David is in a place and time of deep anguish. In verses 6-7 he pretty much pours out his heart with all the pain and anguish he is experiencing. Many times we are like David in the sense that when things are bad we turn and tell God what we need. That is the right thing to do but I feel that many times we do not follow through the way David does. I know that I'm am very guilty of this. Instead of giving my problems to God and leaving them at His feet, I tend to say; "God this is what I'm going through and this is what I need so take care of this and until then I will hold onto these things". What that leads to is a continuance of worry, fear, pain, and all that other crappy stuff that comes along with that. In Psalm 6:8-10 I was reminded of how I should act in times of need. First we see how David vents/gives all his problem to the Lord (1-7), then we see how he believes on the Lords promises and will continue to push forward (8-10).
I believe that we could all learn from David. David understood two very important facts that I believe the Lord would remind us of today. First He realized that in times of need God is the first person we should go to. And second instead of hanging on and dwelling on his problems he believes on the Lords promises and gives them up. I know that this is usually easier said than done but this is something that we should be striving for. By knowing and believing that God hears our prayers and is ABLE to deliver us from our trials, it makes it so much easier to release our problems to Him and instead of living in fear and worry we will live in the hope and joy that comes with knowing Jesus.
