Last night I read 1 Corinthians 15:1-28. Paul wrote in this letter to the Corinthians about an issue they had about the resurrection of the dead. He argued that if there is no such thing as the resurrection of the dead then Jesus could have never risen from the dead and if he never did that then everything they believe and everything they have been doing is one huge waist of time. Paul tells them not only does he know Jesus had risen from the grave, he actually was one of the people who saw him after he had risen. Paul saw the physical evidence, the alive and ressurected Jesus so that would explain his super faith.
So what does this have to do with us? I started to think that I do believe in Jesus even though I've never seen him but I know that my faith would be that much stronger if I got to meet the man I've committed my whole life to. How lucky Paul was to have seen Jesus. Then I started to think about what I just said and I started to realize that Jesus has shown himself to me my entire life. I started thinking about all the things that I have been through and been delivered from and there's no way that I or anyone else could have stepped in and done this for me. God has been at work and always been there for me.
Some of us might be going through difficult times right now and might be thinking where are you God? Why haven't you shown up yet? God is always there, he is there now and has always been there for you. Paul had a gnarly ministry and he had the hope and the faith during the hard times and the good times. And Paul had many bad times, but he could always look back in his life and see that God has always been there and that he would be with him in his current situation. If you are struggling in an area of your life and are wondering where God is then takes sometime today to look back at your life and see where it is that God has brought you out of, healed you, delivered you from. So many times we forget that God is there because of or current situations, but God is always there for you. So my prayer is that we always remember that God is there for us and that just like before in our lives, he can and will help us through our current problems and struggles.
